Recently, the global tariff war has become increasingly fierce.
On April 7, the European Union held an emergency meeting and planned to take retaliatory measures against the US steel and aluminum tariffs, intending to lock in US products worth $28 billion. According to foreign media reports, in response to Trump's large-scale tariff measures, the trade ministers of EU member states have a highly consistent position and have expressed their readiness to take comprehensive countermeasures, including the possibility of taxing digital companies.
At the same time, US President Trump posted on the social platform Truth Social, setting off a new round of tariff storms. He severely criticized China's retaliatory tariffs of 34% on US goods and threatened that if China failed to withdraw this measure by April 8, the United States would impose an additional 50% tariff on Chinese goods from April 9. In addition, Trump also stated that he would completely cut off communication with China on relevant talks.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, House Speaker Mike Johnson revealed that President Trump is currently negotiating with up to 60 countries on tariffs. He said: "This strategy has only been implemented for about a week." In fact, Trump obviously has no intention of stopping. Although the market has reacted violently to the tariff issue, he has repeatedly publicly increased the threat of tariffs and insisted that he would not make concessions on key trade issues.

The Ministry of Commerce responded to the US threat to escalate tariffs on China: If the US escalates tariffs, China will resolutely take countermeasures to safeguard its own rights and interests. The US's imposition of so-called "reciprocal tariffs" on China is groundless and a typical unilateral bullying practice. The countermeasures that China has taken are to safeguard its own sovereignty, security and development interests and maintain the normal international trade order. It is completely legitimate. The US threat to escalate tariffs on China is a mistake on top of a mistake, which once again exposes the blackmail nature of the US. China will never accept it. If the US insists on its own way, China will fight to the end.
US officials announced that additional tariffs on Chinese products will be imposed from 12:00 am on April 9, reaching a tariff of 104%.
In response to the current tariff storm and TEMU's global expansion plan, some sellers said that TEMU is gradually weakening its dependence on the US market, and TEMU's full-managed investment budget will also be transferred to markets such as Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
