Waterproof infrared screens have infrared emitters and receivers arranged around the four sides of the screen, forming an X/Y axis cross grating matrix. When any object (including water droplets or wet hands) blocks the infrared light, the system calculates the touch point coordinates by detecting the location of the beam interruption.
