There are even apps you can download to watch short videos, and some drivers I’ve met in my life use such feature-rich touchscreens to watch short videos while driving.
Secondly, the physical buttons themselves allow us to quickly familiarize ourselves with where these function buttons are located, so that we can complete the operation without the eyes by virtue of muscle memory. But touch screen, many functions are hidden in a variety of different sub-level menus, it will require us to stare at the screen to find the corresponding function so as to complete the operation, which will increase our eyes off the road time, increasing the risk factor.
Finally, if this beautiful screen touch shows a fault, then many operations will not be accessible. No adjustments can be made.
Most automakers are now making a splash with their cars’ touch screens. But from the feedback from various sources, there is still a lot of negative feedback. So the future of automotive touch screens is uncertain.
